You will begin your 8 days in Slovenia in Bled, one of the most beautiful Alpine resorts in Europe. Resting in the foothills of the Julian Alps and set along the glacial Lake Bled, it is among the most famous attractions in Slovenia. To see Slovenia’s most famous and only island, you can opt for a scenic ride in the traditional Pletna boat or enjoy the panoramic views and learn about the town’s history on a tour of the magnificent Bled castle. Make sure to also get some rest for all of the adventures that lay ahead.
For early risers, we have the option of waking up early and hiking up a small hill called Ojstrica to get a great view of the sunrise above Lake Bled. Later, we will kayak on the Sava River for some active water fun. The rest of the afternoon will be spent more leisurely around Bled, but if you still prefer to stay active, there is a possibility of bike or SUP paddle hire to explore the area further.
After a hearty breakfast, get ready to enjoy the thrills of canyoning in a nearby canyon, abseiling, tobogganing, and jumping down the cool stream. The rest of the afternoon will be spent leisurely around Lake Bohinj, but if you still prefer to stay active, you can rent a canoe and explore the lake on your own. There is also an option of taking a cable car to Mount Vogel which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Julian Alps. With many new stories to tell, we will make our way back to Bled, where you will have some time off.
In the morning a scenic drive through the mountains will take us to the town of Bovec, surrounded by the mighty peaks of the Julian Alps. Are you ready to conquer the rapids of the emerald Soča river? We will gear you up for an exciting adventure of white water rafting, the best way to experience this alpine jewel. To take in all the beauty of Soča Valley we will visit Virje Waterfall, a hidden gem and one of the rare karstic springs that never dry up. There is also a unique opportunity to go paragliding and experience the mountain world from above.
After a good night’s sleep and breakfast with a view, we will head up to the banks of the Soča river and discover its lively course, exploring the amazing troughs it made. We will hike deep into the pristine nature of Triglav National Park and look into the magic waters of the Šunik water grove, marvel at the Soča Gorge and even the mythical source of the Soča river.
Whether you spent the night partying or had a quiet evening, a relaxing bike tour around the city will do you good. We will take a guided bike tour to discover the city’s unique highlights and introduce you to the story behind it. To get a real feel of the city, you can opt for a leisurely boat ride on the Ljubljanica River, or visit the mighty Ljubljana Castle with one of the best views of the entire city. If you want to experience more local flavors you can go wine or beer tasting in the evening and raise a glass to the future.
You won’t just stare at the mountains that adorn Ljubljana’s cityscape, instead, we will take you to the high pastures of Velika Planina, where you can admire the views from the heart of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. A unique shepherd’s village located at the top of the plateau will uncover the authentic traditions of cheese-making and cow herding in this incredible Alpine setting. You can reach the plateau by foot on a short scenic trail or opt for a cable car. After we take in the beautiful views, we will return for our last night in Ljubljana.
Unfortunately, every good thing must come to an end. On the final day of your 8 days in Slovenia, you will be free to explore Ljubljana on your own. To make your last day as care-free as possible we can arrange a transfer to Ljubljana Airport from where you will leave Slovenia with memories that will last a lifetime.
