Description
Bled Castle is more than a thousand years old and one of the most spectacular castles in Slovenia, perched high above the calm waters of Lake Bled. You will be able to admire the view of Lake Bled from various vantage points of the castle.
Pssst... we will show you some of the best viewpoints from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Bled and the island of Bled and take beautiful photos.
During your trip to Lake Bled, treat yourself to a ride on a traditional pletna boat to Bled Island, one of the top attractions in Slovenia. Pletna boats are unique on Lake Bled and are steered by a single oarsman with two long oars. After the boat ride, you will have some time to explore the small island and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Optionally, you can visit the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and even ring the wishing bell that has been ringing over Lake Bled since 1534.
You can also take a short walk along the shore of Lake Bled and watch the majestic swans and playful ducks swimming on the lake. Or you can relax and take a break in one of the cafes - where you should definitely try kremšnita, the traditional Bled cream cake.

afternoon trip

lake bled is beautiful, but the weather was awful which put a dampner on the experience. ingrid our driver/guide was very good and knowledgeable but overall I thought it was expensive when basically we only got driven around everything else was to pay for, it also was a little rushed (probably due to the weather) we left at 2.20 and returned at 5.45.
Lake Bled a must

A great tour and a must from Ljubljana. Was sent message the day before for details of tour including needing 18 euros per person if you wanted to do the boat trip to Bled Island. Other extras could be paid by card if you wanted.
Very organized!

Pick up and drop off were easy. Great tour guide. Took us to boat ride to island - no wait for boat. Beautiful tour… would recomend!
Got to experience Bled in a few hours.

Guide was honest about what might happen -- there was so much rain that he feared the boat ride might be canceled -- as well as what could be skipped: "If you've seen one castle, you've seen them all." He was punctual, friendly, engaging, and (most important) a safe driver.
Near constant rain & clouds put a damper on the afternoon, but we could see why this place is over-run with visitors, even in May.
Incredible Lake Bled

The tour was excellent. Our driver Damien was professional and personable. One lady called him “ a wealth of knowledge “ and I agree with her. Lake Bled was so beautiful, I started to tear up when we arrived. The water color, view of the island and Castle were stunning. It was a well organized tour. After arriving at Bled island by row boat, we enjoyed roaming around the tiny island. Amazed at the incredible views of the water and majestic snow covered mountains. Then we were given the option of shopping on the lake or visiting the Castle. I am so glad I didn’t miss the view of the lake from the Castle and enjoyed having traditional cream cake on the terrace. The Castle is one of the best kept and well maintained castles I have ever seen. It is truly beautiful. I hope someday to return to Lake Bled because it was so lovely.
