Visit two of Slovenia’s top attractions in one afternoon on this small-group, half-day tour from Ljubljana. Begin at Predjama Castle, perched on a cliff high above the beautiful Inner Carniola region. Explore the chambers and stairwells and learn about the castle’s most famous resident, Erazem of Predjama. Then, continue to Postojna Cave. Ride a mini-train deep into the famous cave and tour the ethereal network of stalactites, stalagmites and caverns with a local guide. Numbers limited to eight people, ensuring a personalized experience.  Postojna Cave is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world's largest Karst monuments and it is a must-see attraction when visiting Slovenia. You will start the tour with a unique and adventurous ride with a special train in one of the most diverse cave systems in the world, with 21 km of passages, galleries and magnificent halls, which offer an unparalleled experience of the underground world and a large diversity of underground animals – including the world-famous human fish (proteus anguinus). Beside Postojna Cave you will also have the chance to visit Predjama Castle. Our guide will show you this magnificent medieval castle perched high up in a vertical cliff in the idyllic village of Predjama. It is an interesting and romantic sight throughout the year: in the spring and summer its surroundings are abundant with blossoms and flowers, in the autumn it is clad in the colours of surrounding forests and it is at its most enchanting in the winter when the surrounding area is covered in snow.

  • Please keep in mind that there are quite a few stairs at the Predjama castle, but you would do that in a fairly slow pace.

  • Warm and comfortable clothes and footwear are essential to visit the Postojna cave (temperature in the cave is 9°C / 48 Fahrenheit).

We did the half day Postojna Caves & Predjama Castle tour with Nina as our guide. Excellent all round; Nina was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of information on the journey to the Caves. We had clear instructions on ticket purchase and meet times and Nina answered any questions we had. Caves and castle exceeded our expectations and were definitely worth visiting. We could have done with an extra 30 mins in the castle to fully complete the audio guide, but this is a minor comment. Thank you for a lovely tour. Alison & Richard

I originally booked a half day tour to just see the Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle. 0820 pickup in an easy to find location and off to the Caves to start. It was a really nice group of people and our Guide - Tine - was excellent and really informative. The Caves are unbelievable and there is a moment when you're on the train and first see them that takes everyone by surprise. We then went to the Castle and again there was a !! moment when you see it emerging from the cliff. My tour should have ended after there but the day was so interesting and fun that I was able to pay the extra to make it the full day tour & stay with the group who were heading to Lake Bled for the afternoon. We had brilliant weather and were able to get a pletna boat to Bled Island before coming back and going to Bled Castle for more stunning views. Although it was a really full day, at no point did it feel rushed or that we were waiting around - just well managed and organised by Tine and a great day.
Great half day trip to 2 must see attractions!

Karina was an excellet guide! 45 min drive to the caves and then its a 10 min drive to the castle. She gave as a brief history lesson with interesting facts about Slovenia and the castle and the caves. Very enjoyable tour. Had plenty time in both attractions. Temperature inside caves is 10 C so dress accordingly! Would recommend!
