Ljubljana Stand-up Paddle Boarding Lesson And Tour

Paddle boarding in Ljubljana was a great experience. Enjoyed seeing and hearing the history from the river level.

We booked a tour on a Monday morning at 10. That was just great because it was a very warm day a d the morning was still nice. Wear a hat and sunscreen. And be prepared to fall in the water. Our guide Matt was very friendly and calm. He explained everything good and we had a very nice first experience. Besides that you get information about Ljubljana while paddling through the city. Matt picked up some plastic trash that we saw in the river. I think this river is the cleanest I saw in a city. And apparently people take good care of it. We had fun and even did soms SUP yoga. 😀 Thanks a lot Matt.

My partner and I had phenomenal experience with Bananaway. Our instructor, Matt Švraka, was very helpful in teaching us the basics for 10 mins before we got in the water, and then showed us how to get on / out of the water and how to handle waves from other entities in the water. The water was great and Ljubljana is actually in the process of continuing to clean the river! Matt was a testament to this as he picked out litter (although there was very little) to help do his part. As for the actual tour itself, we started a little bit outside of the old town and then made our way all the way to the central market. Matt eloquently described the historical significance of buildings / bridges / cultural experiences of the city as we passed them. He was also brave enough to take his phone with him and snapped some incredible photos of me and my partner. I would highly recommend this experience to people who want to explore Ljubljana in a more active manner with a local who knows the ins and outs of Slovenia! The equipment was also fantastic, and a great introduction to paddle boarding (my partner and I had never paddle boarded before and it was very quick to get on the water and paddling confidently). The pace of the paddling was very leisurely and not strenuous.

This is an amazing experience for nature lovers in the city ! Thanks to Bananaway, especially to Matt our guide! It was interesting and fun.

Most of our group has done a decent amount of paddle boarding, so we didn't really do much of the lesson part, but we had a fun time seeing Ljubljana from the water. The first part of the tour was before most of the boats start, so it was incredibly smooth water too. Everything was well communicated and went smoothly. Definitely enjoyed the experience.
