Slovenian Highlights – Lake Bled, Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle From Ljubljana

We just don't do tours but this opportunity to squeeze the caves, the castle and Lake Bled into our trip to Ljubljana was too good to miss. The minibus arrived on time and immediately Thomas the driver/guide was cheery and very informative. We shared the journey with a Canadian, a Colombian, a Spanish couple and a Maltese couple and Thomas kept us all distracted on the route to the sites with his absorbing conversation about Slovenian life and the history of the country and background information about the caves, the castle and Lake Bled. He was very engaging and is the perfect guide with a passion for his country. It was like listening to a fascinating podcast as he took us on our journey. We had plenty of time at Postojna Caves to do the full experience. We had enough time at the castle too before heading across to Lake Bled for the chilled boat ride to the island. We had been worried about being stuck in a vehicle and not being in control of our own trip but Thomas made it feel like a family day out and we had the freedom to experience each part of the tour on our own before meeting up for the next leg of the trip. This is a fantastic tour and you will not be disappointed

I chose and loved this option better than the other ones because this one is a smaller van (smaller group) and they pick you up at your hotel and drop you off whatever you want (the other tour, you have to meet where they tell you). Our driver Daniel, was spectacular, very professional, well-spoken English, very knowledgeable, very nice to be around, he was on time for pick up, if we wanted to stop somewhere to see something, he would do it. He explained very well the ins and outs of the excursions, what to bring, what to expect, if you need cash vs card (for the boats in Lake Bled, they only take cash), he stopped at an ATM for us. Our first part of the excursion there were only 3 of us, he took us to lake bled first because he knows it gets busy, when we got there, we had the castle by ourselves, it felt like a literary private excursion. Overall, very very pleasant experience not only for the beauty of slovenia, but the service made it even better. I’ll recommend this option specially if you have kids, you want a smaller group and if you rather get picket up rather than meet up somewhere.

Booked through Viator. We’re a group of 5 and we wanted a private experience, so we booked and paid for all 8 spots. Pre-trip communications were smooth and they replied very quickly (within a few hours even with the time zone differences). Nejc arrived early at our hotel with a big smile. He was super helpful and recommended some changes to the order of our stops, as it was pouring heavily near Lake Bled in the morning. He took great care of my elderly parents and was super friendly! I wish our trip was a bit longer so I could spend a few more days exploring this beautiful country with Nejc.
