Slovenia where the Alps meet the Mediterranean and the Pannonian Plain meets the Karst. Slovenia is one of the most environmentally friendly countries in the world. It boasts vast forests, rich biodiversity, numerous protected areas and parks, exceptional water wealth and high-quality drinking water. In Slovenia you will be surrounded by greenery at every step- nearly 60% of Slovenia's surface is covered by forests. We are particularly attentive to our natural environment due to its rich flora and fauna. A photo experience is must when visiting Slovenia. In this trip we try to wrap up some great photo opportunities. We know that your travel would not be just only about the photography, so that is why our special 5 day trip could be your top up or add to your longer experience. We understand that field of photography is large and there are lots of different wishes, so that this tour is only the frame. We always can adjust . It is normal that we adopt to the weather and your wishes.
The tour will start in the unspoiled nature of forests in Loški Potok or Kostel. There, all the photo enthusiasts and adventurers can catch sight of the brown bears and create their own new photo collections. You will arrive at the spot in mid-day around 1:00 PM. This means that you will start your Brown bear photo tour around 2:00 PM. A photo session with a bear for most of us is a very special experience. The day will wrap up with a local dinner.
Day 2 will be most about the Bear again. We cannot predict the nature, so to assure you great photo opportunity we are planing two similar photo days. Bear photography is mostly afternoon, so that is why you will have time, after breakfast to do some bird photography or exploring around the area.
Ormož Basins, a 135-acre wetland of anthropogenic origin lies within the Drava River ecosystem by the Ormož Lake. It consists of shallow pools with reeds and rushes, surrounded by a flooded forest, a rare reminder of extensive riparian forests in Slovenia. The wetland is of exceptional national and international significance for many endangered bird species. Bird species for photo sessions are; the Little Bittern, Great Reed Warbler, Reed Warbler, Night Heron, and Kingfisher.
Ljutomer-Ormož Hills has always offered ideal conditions for the production of white wines. Some rare species found their peace here in between the vineyards. This special place and spectacular landscape will be offering you great photo opportunities across two days. Among the main species we might see on the first day (day 3) will be the Bee-eater, Hoopoe, Common Cuckoo, Green woodpecker, and Kingfisher.
Your Slovenian experience will wrap up in Ormož or Rače (floating hide or little owl) with a morning bird photo session (you can decide what to do) and traditional Slovenian lunch. We advise you that you book a late afternoon or night flight so that you will have enough time to drive to the airport. All three airports are 2 and half hour drive away from Ormož.
